    Thank you for joining a Shared Futures NPC (“Shared Futures,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) program—whether it’s a Conservation Meditative Hike, Youth Leadership workshop, School Eco-Club, volunteer service or any activity (collectively, the “Program”). To ensure everyone’s safety, respect, and enjoyment, please review and accept the terms below before participating.

    1. Eligibility & Registration

    • You confirm you are at least 18 years old (or have parental/guardian consent if under 18).
    • You agree to complete any required registration, screening, and orientation processes.
    • You will provide accurate personal, emergency-contact, and health information as requested.

    2. Code of Conduct

    When participating, you agree to:
    • Act respectfully toward staff, fellow participants, community members, and local environments.
    • Follow all instructions, schedules, and safety protocols provided by Shared Futures staff or partners.
    • Treat property—public, private, and natural—with care; avoid littering, vandalism, or disturbance of wildlife.
    • Refrain from discriminatory language or behavior, harassment, and any form of bullying.
    • Comply with local laws, cultural norms, and land-access restrictions.
    Failure to adhere may result in removal from the Program without refund.

    3. Health & Safety Waiver

    • You acknowledge that participation in outdoor activities and conservation work involves physical exertion and inherent risks (terrain, wildlife, weather, tools).
    • You certify to the best of your knowledge that you are physically fit and able to participate.
    • You will disclose any medical conditions, allergies, medications, or mobility limitations prior to the Program.
    • You consent to receive first-aid treatment if necessary and agree to cover any additional medical expenses.
    • Shared Futures holds no liability for injuries arising from your failure to disclose relevant health information or to follow safety guidelines.

    4. Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability

    • You voluntarily assume all risks—known and unknown—associated with Program activities.
    • To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Shared Futures, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and partners from any claims, liabilities, or damages arising out of your participation.
    • You agree not to sue or make a claim against Shared Futures for personal injury, property loss, or other damages resulting from ordinary negligence.

    5. Photo, Video & Media Release

    • During Program activities, Shared Futures or its partners may photograph, film, or record participants.
    • You grant Shared Futures a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use your likeness, voice, and/or statements in any media for promotional, educational, or advocacy purposes.
    • If you prefer to opt out, you must notify the Program coordinator in writing before the activity begins.

    6. Confidentiality & Data Protection

    • You agree not to disclose confidential information learned about communities, research data, or proprietary methods.
    • Shared Futures will process any personal data you provide in accordance with our Privacy Policy, Data Protection & Retention Policy, and applicable laws (POPIA, GDPR).

    7. Termination of Participation

    • Shared Futures reserves the right to terminate your participation at any time—for safety concerns, misconduct, or violation of this Agreement—without notice or refund.
    • You may withdraw at any time by notifying the Program coordinator; no refunds will be issued for voluntary withdrawal after registration deadlines.

    8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

    This Agreement is governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Gauteng.
