Thank you for supporting Shared Futures NPC (“Shared Futures,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Donation Terms & Conditions explain how we process your gifts, manage refunds or cancellations, issue tax receipts, and distinguish between restricted and unrestricted donations. By making a donation via our website (https://sharedfutures.africa) or other channels, you agree to these terms.
1.1. Payment Methods
• We accept one-time and recurring donations via credit/debit card, EFT/bank transfer, and select digital wallets (e.g., PayPal, Stripe).
• All payment transactions are processed securely by third-party providers—your financial data is never stored on our servers.
1.2. Confirmation
• After you complete a donation, you’ll receive an immediate on-screen acknowledgment and an email confirmation to the address you provided.
• If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours, please contact us (see Section 6).
2.1. One-Time Donations
• One-time donations are generally non-refundable. In exceptional circumstances (e.g., duplicate transactions, processing errors), please submit a refund request within 14 days of your donation.
2.2. Recurring Donations
• You may cancel or modify your recurring gift at any time by logging into your donor profile or by contacting our Finance Team. Cancellations take effect within 3 business days.
• Donations processed before the cancellation date will not be refunded, except in cases of technical error.
2.3. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation
• Email finance@sharedfutures.africa with your donation details (transaction ID, date, amount) and reason for the request.
• We aim to respond to refund or cancellation requests within 5 business days.
3.1. Receipt Issuance
• We issue official tax receipts for all qualifying donations within 7 business days of receipt. Receipts are sent by email in PDF format.
3.2. Tax-Deductible Status
• Shared Futures NPC is registered as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) under South African tax law. Your donation may qualify for tax deductions under Section 18A of the Income Tax Act, subject to SARS regulations.
• Please consult your tax advisor for eligibility and record-keeping requirements.
3.3. Lost or Duplicate Receipts
• To request a duplicate or corrected receipt, email finance@sharedfutures.africa with your donor ID or transaction details.
4.1. Unrestricted Donations
• Gifts without designation are classified as unrestricted and are used at the organization’s discretion to meet the greatest needs—covering operational costs, core programs, and emerging priorities.
4.2. Restricted Donations
• You may designate your gift to a specific program, project, or fund (e.g., “Reforest Africa Initiative,” “Youth Leadership Programme”).
• We honor donor restrictions wherever feasible. If we cannot apply your gift as specified (e.g., program sunset, overfunding), we will contact you to discuss reallocation or return of funds.
4.3. Multi-Year Pledges
• Multi-year or installment pledges can be designated as restricted or unrestricted. Each installment will follow the same designation and processing terms.
4.4. Donor Communications
• You will receive program-specific updates when you give to a restricted fund, helping you track impact and progress.
We may update these Donation Terms & Conditions to reflect changes in law, best practices, or our operations. The “Last Updated” date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Continued donations after changes constitute acceptance of the updated terms.
