    Shared Futures NPC (“Shared Futures,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to making our website (https://sharedfutures.africa) accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We strive to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

    Our Commitment

    • We aim for all pages, documents, and digital services to be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for assistive technologies.
    • Accessibility is an ongoing effort—our developers and content authors are trained in best practices and monitor updates to WCAG standards.

    Accessibility Features

    • Text Alternatives: All non-text content (images, icons, buttons) includes meaningful alt text or ARIA labels.
    • Keyboard Navigation: You can navigate our entire site using only a keyboard (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Esc).
    • Focus Indicators: Visible outlines and high-contrast focus styles show current selection.
    • Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements meet a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against backgrounds.
    • Resizable Text: You can resize text up to 200% without loss of functionality or content.
    • ARIA Landmarks & Roles: Semantic HTML and ARIA attributes help screen readers understand page structure.
    • Captions & Transcripts: Any video or audio we publish includes captions or a transcript.
    • Form Labels & Instructions: All form fields have clear labels, instructions, and error-handling messages.

    Ongoing Improvements

    • We conduct quarterly accessibility audits using automated tools and manual testing with screen readers (e.g., NVDA, VoiceOver).
    • User feedback drives our backlog of improvements—identified issues are triaged and prioritized for each development sprint.

    Known Limitations

    While we aim for full compliance, some third-party widgets or embedded content may not yet meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We are working with vendors to improve their accessibility or find suitable alternatives.
